Seeking interview participants for my PhD dissertation on polyamory in Canada

Participants Wanted

About the project:

My PhD dissertation considers how polyamorous and nonmonogamous Canadians navigate institutions or systems that don’t recognize non-monogamy. This could include, for example, healthcare, insurance, taxes, the legal system, legal parental status, school interactions, etc.

I am looking for interview participants who are willing to discuss their experiences in these contexts. Interviews will take place in-person or online and should take 1-2 hours.

Participant Eligibility

Potential participants should live in Ontario or BC, identify as polyamorous or non-monogamous, and have a group they might call their “family” – whatever that means to you. This could mean, for example, that you co-habitate with multiple partners, that your children have more than two parents, or that you are married or committed to more than one partner, even if you don’t all live together. It could also look different than all of these – as long as your “family” in some way challenges monogamous norms.

For in-person interviews, we will arrange a safe, neutral meeting space that’s convenient for you. I can meet with you in your home, in a public space such as a café, or in a private space such as a library meeting room. We can work together to find something that is convenient for you! If you prefer Zoom, that’s always an option.
